THE BIG GIG - A non-commercial community project has been set up recently with the help of CwmNi, Treherbert.

The project known as "THE BIG GIG" is a community event in which three local bands will perform on Treherbert RFC rugby field - on SAT 29th JULY - to raise money for local charities such as the "Rhondda Disabled Riding School" and also aid the regeneration of the Rhondda Community - which is the event's primary aim.

Many business sponsors from the local area and outside have kindly agreed to sponsor the event (e.g. scaffolders making us the stage) and also Cwmni have succeeded in gaining funding from the arts council and are currently looking for Radio interest.

Bands performing are "Under the Covers" (popular covers band), "The Dave Barry Big Band" and "The Boogie Men". There will also be a beer tent and live DJ with music for all ages.

Gates open at 5pm for 6pm start.

Tickets £3.50 available from Cwmni, Bute Street Treherbert - Tel:01443 777536

and also from pubs in the Cwmni area (The Baglan up).

Please ensure all under 16s are accompanied by an adult.
