Treherbert & District is fast becoming the gateway to the world of art & culture with an influx of artists to the area.

The new art gallery development has been a success with the partnership between Mohamed and Sian Hamza and recently set up Treherbert & District Art Society supported by the local people and organisations in the area. The gallery will create an international interest with other projects being developed in respect of cultural diversity and cultural tourism to the area.

Sian Hamza visualises an introduction to creating cultural awareness through the medium of arts. She says, "It is important for the international community to be aware that there is almost untapped wealth of local talent that will serve to enrich it. The gallery is enhanced with resident Artist M. Hamza providing an artistic environment and creating opportunities for all ages to communicate through the medium of arts. The interchangeable exhibitions of local and international artists will offer opportunities for all to value the arts."

Exhibitions will change on a monthly basis and this month you can view the work of the Treherbert & District Art Society. The next exhibition will commence from May 6 and will contain the work of Blaencwm artist Derek Windsor.

For further information about the gallery and its work, contact Sian Hamza at 146 Bute Street, Treherbert, Rhondda Cynon Taff, CF42 5PD or telephone 01443-777771.
