- RON BERRY, Treherbert.
RON BERRY (1920-97) lived a remarkable life, not least for its physical hardships
and fight for economic survival. In his novels and short stories, he become
the chronicler and elegist of a time and place, the Rhondda, where he mostly
lived throughout his life and which has been so utterly changed in the latter
half of the twentieth century.
For a man who did not trust history, he has contributed much to our understanding of it.
