GERAINT DAVIES was born and bred in Treherbert, Geraint Davies has been a local member of the Rhondda Cynon Taff authority for many many years. He was also appointed the first Assembly Member for Rhondda at the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff. He is also a local community pharmacist in Tynewydd and Treherbert.

Educated at Pentre Grammar School, Geraint furthered his studies at Chelsea College, University of London. After graduating, he returned to the Rhondda to find that his school friends were forced to leave the valley to find work. Geraint joined Plaid Cymru, a party with a clear economic vision to find work for young people in their communities.

He has been a County and District Councillor from 1983 to 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed representing his Ward. His special interests include health, housing, and economic development within the Valleys.

Geraint is also a keen member of Rhondda Tennis Club and enjoys playing whenever he is able to find the time! He also enjoys listening to music and playing the piano.
