WHO IS KEVIN MORGAN?

WHO IS JEFF WILLIAMS?

TREHERBERT COUNCILLORS

LABOUR PARTY: KEVIN MORGAN .... Top
"I have a feeling that the people are fed up with the alternative to Labour that they chose at the Council elections in 1999. But Labour will not be relying on the people's disappointment to regain control in June 2004. Labour has learned from its defeat and we will be offering the voters of the Treherbert Ward a refreshing, imaginative and attractive set of policies that will be realistic, well-costed and sustainable."

"Since Plaid Cymru have been in control they have run the Council as a secret cabal. Decisions are made behind closed doors. During their period of control they have benefited from an extra 82 million pounds from the Labour Government - though they have closed Day Centres for the elderly, slapped on new charges on local sports clubs and on home care for the elderly, wasted money on management away days and consultants' fees, and stored away extra money that was designed for our schools."

PROFILE
Experience: I offer thirteen years' past experience as a Rhondda Borough Councillor, and current knowledge of the worries and complaints of local people.

Work: Following careers in Local Government and Higher Education Personnel Management, I currently work for Rhondda's MP Chris Bryant.

Trade Union: I am a member of the GMB.

Education: I have an MSc Degree in Public Sector Management.

Family: I live in Upper Taff Street, Treherbert, with my wife, Merriel, and two sons - Sam attends Penyrenglyn Community Primary School (where I am a Parent Governor) and Owen attends Treherbert Infants' School.

Kevin Morgan.

LABOUR PARTY: JEFF WILLIAMS .... Top
"I am honoured to have been selected by Treherbert Labour Party as one of their two candidates for the Council elections in June 2004. I am really looking forward to my first contest! I have lived in the area all my life and I am keen to seek the chance to make a positive contribution to improving the community in which we live."

"A lot has been achieved through the Labour Government at Westminster and through the Welsh Assembly Government under Rhodri Morgan. It's such a shame that so much of the additional resources made available by Labour to RCT has been squandered by the Plaid Cymru controlled Council. I want to try to persuade the voters that a Labour Council working with the two Labour Governments in Westminster and Cardiff is what is in the best interests of Treherbert and District."

"I certainly do not believe that Plaid Cymru's admission that they want an independent Wales will serve the best interests of Treherbert or Wales."

PROFILE
"I currently work in Everest Double Glazing in Treherbert. I have previously worked in family businesses in the area, including the Baglan Hotel. I also spent some time as Steward of the Tynewydd Labour Club."

"I am married to Stephanie and we live in Mount Libanus Street, Treherbert."
